Stream your cares away with the cares of BoJack Horseman and One Mississippi

TV Lists What's On Tonight

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Friday, September 8, and Saturday, September 9. All times are Eastern.

Top picks

BoJack Horseman (Netflix)/One Mississippi (Amazon): It’s been another banner week for ol’ reality. Why not let somebody else do the fretting for you this weekend? Somebody like the equine anti-protagonist of BoJack Horseman, who’s off on another quest to find himself as the fourth season of his show. Or Tig Notaro, whose One Mississippi alter ego, Tig Bovaro, has moved back home for season two, episodes of which deal frankly with sexual assault, health scares, unrequited attraction, widening cultural divides following the election of Donald Trump, and something that looks an awful lot like what One Mississippi-EP-in-name-only Louis CK is rumored to have done in front of multiple female comics. Les Chappell will be there for you as you search for BoJack, while Erik Adams and Danette Chavez make the trip to Bay Saint Lucille.

Regular coverage

Narcos (Friday and Saturday, Netflix)

Halt And Catch Fire (Saturday, AMC, 9 p.m.)

Wild card

MTV Unplugged (Friday, MTV, 8 p.m.): The stripped-down, live-in-concert series reboots with a performance by Shawn Mendes, who was born just as the original incarnation of the franchise was winding down. You’re getting old; maybe it’s time for another episode of BoJack.
