Tatiana Maslany gets cult-leader creepy in the new Son Lux video

Anyone who watches Orphan Black knows Tatiana Maslany is capable of handling anything you throw at her. Evil corporations, religious zealots, assassins… you name it, she can deal with it. But what about the deadening rituals of everyday life? That’s the question posed in the new video for “You Don’t Know Me,” the latest single from Son Lux, off its new album Bones (out now on Glassnote Records.)

Created by design group The Made Shop and directed by Nathan Johnson, the video finds Maslany trapped in the numbing routines of a modern relationship with a partner (Noah Segan) oblivious to her empty feeling. Soon, we’re cutting to a mysterious facility where Maslany holds sway over obedient followers—but, oddly, these rituals soon start to look just as hollow and meaningless as the ones she’s stuck with at home.

Son Lux’s new song is an eerie soundtrack for the visuals. Haunting, spare, and with just the right amount of jarring edge, it’s the sound of someone slowly losing their grip on reality. The group is currently on tour in North America, and heads off to Europe in August for the rest of the year. Tour dates and tickets can be found here.
