Taylor Swift goes through a lot of emotional and romantic sturm und drang in her new video, “Blank Space,” in which she declares, “Got a long list of ex-lovers, they’ll tell you I’m insane” and then seemingly goes on to prove that assertion by smashing out her latest suitor’s headlights with a golf club in front of a fancy-looking mansion. (She has apparently abandoned the country for the country club.) Perhaps Swift needs to remember the basics of maintaining a successful relationship: “The best head comes from a thug.” These words of wisdom come, of course, from the deathless 2002 hit “My Neck, My Back (Lick It)” by Khia. Now Soundcloud user TheMattSmith has helpfully conflated these two songs into a single track entitled “My Neck, My Back, My Blank Space,” which keeps the airy, moody backing track from the Swift song but removes Taylor’s pinched, pleading vocals in favor of Khia’s direct and sensible advice about cunnilingus, i.e. “First you gotta put your neck into it. Don’t stop, just do it, do it.” It’s an improvement all around.
