The seasonal sci-fi favorite Independence Day, the award-winning Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, and the recent theatrical release The Bob’s Burgers Movie are just three of the many notable movies premiering on the Hulu streaming service in July. There’s also the fantasy-action-comedy The Princess (pictured), an original Hulu film starring Joey King, along with a couple of cult favorite action films, an underrated animation title and several other “worth a watch” movies to heat things up in the heart of summer.

Did anyone at AVC actually watch The Princess before listing it among the “best” films? Not having seen it either I can’t say it isn’t, but I didn’t get the impression it had been sent out for review ahead of time.
They included “Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of who gives a fuck” under best films as well. They are not even trying
Supposedly one of Snyder’s better films.
Plus “googly eyed Pixar flicks aimed squarely at young children” doesn’t sound like classic Pixar at all.

“The Princess” was TERRIBLE. I think there must have been a whole three pages of dialogue in the whole movie, the rest was grunts and moans and gasps from various sword fights.
There’s not enough cocaine in the world to keep up with how The Princess was shot. I only made it fifteen minutes in.
I thought it was a huge let down. The concept is really cool but the execution was more like the season finale of a modestly budgeted tv show.

The Princess is no/low budget action fantasy; it has no aspirations of being Citizen Cain. For what it is, it’s pretty darn good, and Joey King does a surprisingly good job with the fight scenes.Frankly, I’d much rather spend 90 minutes with this cinematic junk food, and watching six Oscar nominations worth of a dude stuck in a mountain (127 Hours), but different strokes, and whatnot.

The best part about that Owl movie was when Matt Damon was obsessed with it when he was on 30 RockAlso Hobo with a Shotgun was not part of the fake trailers in Grindhouse officially. It did get to screen with them in, I think Canada, on some limited screening. There was a contest to make the best grindhouse trailer as part of the promotion of the movie and it was the winner

Big Trouble in Little China to me is as good as anything John Carpenter ever did & is Kurt Russell’s best performance. That is a movie that looks better every year. I loved it when I first saw it, even though it is an homage to a genre that I did not even know existed
I love The Thing, Escape from NY, and Big Trouble in Little China for Kurt Russell’s performances.
