The A.V. Club will soon exist in TV show form

Aux Features TV

Last year, my A.V. Club colleagues and I surveyed the media landscape and reached a troubling conclusion: There simply aren’t enough television shows. To remedy that shortfall, we’re taking matters into our own hands. We’re launching a TV program called The A.V. Club, which has a nice ring to it. The show premieres March 16 at 9 p.m. Eastern on Fusion TV, part of our Univision media conglomerate family.

Every week on The A.V. Club, we’ll survey the latest news from the world of entertainment and dive deep into one corner of pop culture, ranging from the broad—horror films, say—to the specific—black game show hosts, say. We’ll have commentary and criticism in the informed, skeptical voice you’ve come to expect from The A.V. Club. We will interview people who make art we love. There will be jokes. And the proceedings will be hosted by me, John Teti. I forced Fusion executives to watch old episodes of Pick A Choice until they gave me a show to make me stop.

I’ve loved The A.V. Club for as long as I can remember, and I’ve loved television since I was in the womb. I’m both excited and daunted by the opportunity to be the TV face of our pop-cultural endeavors. I think you’ll enjoy the show, and I know I’ll have fun making it. We will keep you apprised as the series premiere gets closer and the show gels into shape. As always, thank you for reading The A.V. Club—and, soon, for watching it!
