This week’s question comes from web producer Baraka Kaseko:

Who is the best TV comedy ensemble on TV? Answers must be from shows currently airing or on hiatus. Nothing that has ended/been cancelled.

I’ve waxed poetic about A Black Lady Sketch Show before, from reviewing the to homing in on the show’s , which, along with the ace cast, establishes a new world with each sketch. , Ashley Nicole Black, and Gabrielle Dennis—along with , who couldn’t return this year—already showed off their enviable timing and chemistry in the first season. In this arguably more ambitious second outing, newcomers Laci Mosley and Skye Townsend basically board a moving train without missing a beat. There’s no concept too far-fetched, no characterization too specific for these incredibly versatile performers. Thede, Black, Dennis, Mosley, and Townsend make each character their own, while making us laugh our heads off. [Danette Chavez]

Ted Lasso is great, but you can’t mention the ensemble and not talk about Juno Temple!

It’s always sunny is still on, right? If so… that.

The cast of WWDITS is a wonderful combination of talented people I wasn’t familiar with plus Matt Berry! Thank goodness he is finally getting (what I hope is) the serious paycheck he thoroughly deserves.

Lol. I just wrote the same show without even seeing your comment! Sorry. You have great taste.

While he’s not in the first season, his role on The IT Crowd is absolutely hilarious – as is the show.

Lol at Black Lady Sketch Shows inclusion on this list.

What We Do In The Shadows. Maybe it works so beautifully because the ensemble does quite a bit of improvisation. You’ve got to have chemistry for that.

Matt Berry is the best musician to become an actor ever!

    You… uh… forgetting somebody there?

“The cast was even able to meet the challenge of Chelsea Peretti’s mid-series departure”I think you meant to write “the case got even better after jettisoning the weakest and most annoying character”

Search Party is… trash! Sure, the cast IS talented, but the material is nothing but easy pot-shots at millennials and truly awful plotting (gotta love a show that repeatedly [Portia’s acting job, the funeral, the stalker] talks about how layered and nuanced it’s main character is instead of, you know, having a nuanced and layered main character). The first season was a ton of fun, but after that the show was way more interested in trying to be smart and clever instead of telling a coherent story.

For someone who’s only other credit is random appearances on a cooking show, Lucky Yates is hilarious and incredibly underrated.

I recently watched all of Black Monday. Usually, I just don’t vibe with the comedy of that friend-group of comedians. (I’m not a fan of Wet Hot American Summer for that reason.) But it really works here! Cheadle and Hall are hilarious but also just incredible actors. They bring depth to a show that can get real whacky sometimes. Andrew Rannels is also hilarious and perfect. The only thing I struggle with is Paul Scheer playing a gay man, but I can’t deny he is legitimately fantastic in the role.

I would add Rutherford Falls to this list. Maybe not as well known names but so many great performances on that show. The episode about the casino owner was especially thoughtful and moving (and funny).

Black Monday is great. I can’t believe I had been sleeping on Regina Hall before this. The whole cast is stellar.

Babe! Lists like this make me miss New Girl and Classic CeCe Winston mess-arounds.

I slogged through season one of Mythic Quest hoping it would get better by season 2.I’ve tried that first episode twice now and can’t sit through it.

I heard that somebody made a list of the most talented sitcom ensembles & didn’t include What we do in the Shadows & Bloody Mary came & ripped their guts out.

“bob’s burgers” would like a word.
