It’s also animated, delightfully weird, and a keen reminder of why the Addams Family have always been such a creepy joy to watch. MGM has just released the official teaser for their animated wonder The Addams Family and it is nearly two minutes of the First Family of Macabre just marching to the off-beat of their own drum, which is just fine.
The animated feature stars the vocal talents of Oscar Isaac as Gomez Addams, Charlize Theron as Morticia, Stranger Things’ Finn Wolfhard as Pugsley, and Chloë Grace Moretz as the ever-morose Wednesday. As far as introductory teasers go, it’s a nice glimpse of the family’s day-to-day lives, which may or may not include the occasional in-house explosion. But because it’s introductory that means that it doesn’t include any plot points or a look into Allison Janney’s turn as Margaux Needler, a crafty reality show host. Still, it does sneak in a pretty solid It joke, so there’s that.
The Addams Family premieres in theaters on October 11, just in time for Halloween.
