While thus far the ad campaign for The Dark Knight Rises has suggested the film will be a mostly bleak, brooding affair, regrettably free of any former cast members of The State and Reno 911, along comes a new TV spot to upend all of those assumptions. This is what you might call the "fun" Dark Knight trailer—no grumbles from Bane about being "Gotham's reckoning," no somber, disbelieving gazes at the skyline. Instead it's all slam-bam action and what amounts to some actual comedy, a looser approach that's kicked off by Thomas Lennon's unexpected cameo as a doctor archly delivering a dire prognosis for Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne. Enjoy this lighter side of the Dark Knight, maybe while occasionally clicking this funny spring sound effect for extra zaniness. [via Coming Soon]
