The Leftovers’ Carrie Coon is moving to Fargo season 3

If you’re still mourning the fact that The Leftovers has only one more season before it gets raptured, here’s some good news: Carrie Coon is moving to Fargo. According to TV Line, the FX anthology series has recruited Coon to play the female lead opposite Ewan McGregor. It seems like Coon will play this season’s well-intentioned law enforcement officer, a role that will sound familiar to anyone who has seen Joel and Ethan Coen’s movie, or watched the series so far.

Eden Valley police chief Gloria Bugle is described as a “a practical woman who grabs the fire extinguisher when the bacon catches fire and everyone else panics.” She is, per TV Line, a “newly divorced mother, who is struggling to understand this new world around her where people connect more intimately with their phones than the people right in front of them.” So, yeah, apparently the show is leaving the ’70s behind. But will her frustration involve Pokémon Go? Who’s to say. Chances are Gloria will have to deal with at least one, or potentially two McGregors, though, as the Scottish actor’s doing double duty as brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy. Emmit is the dashing “Parking Lot King of Minnesota,” and Ray is a sadsack parole officer.
