As its recent Green Lantern-parodying preview acknowledged, The Muppets campaign has thus far been a game of teases and head-fakes—funny in its own right, but frustrating to those who want to see some actual Muppet action. Well, no more: It’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights, and yes, it’s time to meet The Muppets 2011, including the new Jason Segel/Nicholas Stoller addition to the gang, Walter. (And if you’re the type who doesn’t like meeting new puppet people, perhaps you’ll be pleased to know Walter gets severely electrocuted.) The rest is a nostalgic montage of classic Muppets arcana—Kermit and his banjo, the Electric Mayhem bus, Miss Piggy’s dangerous temper—plus plenty of new stuff, like Fozzie in “fart shoes” and what appears to be a big dance sequence to Starship’s “We Built This City.” Looking good, Muppets.
