Nah; it’s his story, his characters and his world, and he was pretty heavily involved in the production even if he wasn’t on “set” much; it’s true that Sellick unfairly went largely unrecognised for years (until “Burton did nothing” became a cliche internet “truth bomb”), but Burton absolutely is the creator of it, and he has a right to feel protective of it.
