TNT makes Jerry Bruckheimer and Michael Bay’s cocaine dreams come true

Aux Features Newswire

TNT has officially given the green light to Jerry Bruckheimer and Michael Bay’s cocaine drama pilot, a project that, unlike a big pile of cocaine, has been allowed to sit undisturbed for over six years. Bruckheimer and Bay originally wanted to sell the project to HBO, presumably because they could afford more pyrotechnics that way, but now that they’ve landed on basic cable they’ll have to make do with one Aerosmith song and two exploding helicopters per episode. (The duo presumably settled on TNT due to its association with their beloved explosions.)

The untitled pilot was written by Masters Of Sex creator/executive producer Michelle Ashford, whose role in the project will probably be greatly reduced now that she has her own series to run. That gives Bruckheimer and Bay the chance to put their creative stamp on the Miami-set pilot, loosely based on the 2006 documentary Cocaine Cowboys. And that can only mean one thing: SPEEDBOATS FULL OF COCAINE! The pilot will also be set in the ‘70s and early ‘80s, as all good cocaine-related things are.
