Tonight, we watch Keri Russell win an Emmy… right?

TV Lists What's On Tonight

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Monday, September 17. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards (NBC, 8 p.m.): Listen, if there was an Emmy for Outstanding Performance By A Vein In The Forehead, The Americans would have had the category on lock for six seasons. But that category does not exist, so tonight’s Primetime Emmy Awards marks the last chance we have to see Keri Russell (and that vein) get recognized for one of the best TV performances of the century. As we wait, we’ll have the comedy stylings of hosts Michael Che and Colin Jost to keep us company. We’re sure they’ve been honing their uncomfortable Les Moonves material for weeks.

We’ll also be live-blogging the ceremony, so should you desire to watch our anxiety mount and our inevitable disappointment play out in real time, come join us. If Sandra Oh wins instead, we’ll be good with that, too.

Regular coverage

Better Call Saul (AMC, 9 p.m.)
Lodge 49 (AMC, 10 p.m.)
Elementary (CBS, 10 p.m.): sixth-season finale

Wild card

An Emmy For Megan (IFC, 11 p.m.): Megan Amram already lost her Emmy—Emmys, actually, two of them, one for acting and one as the producer of this onetime candidate for Outstanding Short Form Comedy or Drama Series (she lost that last one to James Corden’s Next James Corden.) Nevertheless, IFC has granted us all a chance to watch her journey from the very beginning, as An Emmy For Megan concerns itself with the fictional Megan Amram, who wants to fulfill all of the minimum requirements to be nominated for an Emmy by creating a webseries about fulfilling all of the minimum requirements to win an Emmy. Sure, you can watch it online, for free, right now, but this is its television premiere, and everyone in the whole world should watch it so that it’s the highest-rated program of the evening, because that is the ending this saga deserves. And hey, you can consult the artist about her work directly:
