Tron: Legacy’s Joseph Kosinski is making a movie about a wildfire

Aux Features Film

According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Joseph Kosinski has signed on to direct No Exit, a movie based on the true story of a wildfire in Arizona that “killed almost an entire crew of firefighters in 2013.” This is an interesting departure from Kosinski’s other work, which includes Tron: Legacy, Oblivion, a trailer for the video game Destiny, and nothing else. In other words, all he’s ever done is sci-fi, and unless this project takes a significant departure from the true story, it doesn’t sound like it’ll be very sci-fi at all.

Last year, Kosinski was attached to direct an adaptation of the Gran Turismo video game series, and before that he was involved with a new Twilight Zone movie. Presumably, this news means he’s not working on either of those projects anymore. Hopefully, though, Kosinski will be able to tailor No Exit to his tastes and have Daft Punk make a cameo during some kind of fire-based nightclub scene.
