TV delights Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg to host next year's Golden Globes

It’s extremely noice for us to report today that Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh—who, between Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Killing Eve, are responsible for some of our most enjoyable TV viewing experiences in recent memory—will be combining their powers for next year’s Golden Globes. Per Variety, the duo will host the event, only the fourth time it’s been done as a two-fer (after Amy Poehler and Tina Fey’s three-year run from 2013 to 2015).

Oh and Samberg had a trial run for their upcoming comedy partnership earlier this year, when they co-presented the award for Outstanding Directing For A Comedy Series at this year’s Emmys. They were, unsurprisingly, charming, especially Oh, who lent a fun, frantic air to an otherwise semi-dull category.

The Golden Globes will air on NBC on January 6.

Sandra Oh? Was Emma Stone not available?

I forgot that they presented together so I thought it was a bit of a random match-up, but I am… intrigued. I love Sandra Oh and I am definitely not in the anti-Samberg camp. As much as I know a lot of people find Samberg intolerable I would definitely take him over the three hours of screeching that will be the 2019 Academy Awards.

They don’t announce the nominees at the Emmys? This is definitely a great hosting combo but there’s never a good chance of me watching an entire awards show.
