Our friends and corporate colleagues at Univision and Fusion have been teasing an upcoming concert event called Rise Up As One for several weeks, and this morning they’ve made the date, location, and lineup public. On October 15, at the Cross Border Xpress near San Diego, the network will present Miguel Bosé, Luis Coronel, Andra Day, Lila Downs, Jorge Drexler, Fonseca, Jesse & Joy, Juanes, Natalia Lafourcade, Los Tigres del Norte, Lupillo Rivera, Alejandro Sanz, Julieta Venegas, and Carlos Vives. Celebrity guests include Gael Garcia Bernal, Wilmer Valderrama, and more.
The event was conceived by Univision and a star-studded cast of co-chairs, including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Quincy Jones, Gloria Estefan, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Rodriguez, Ava Duvernay, and the proverbial many, many more. If you can’t make it all the way to the border, this “celebration of music, diversity, and unity” will also be broadcast live in Spanish on Univision and in English on Fusion, from 7-10 p.m. Eastern.
