Mario Van Peebles–the man behind New Jack City and BAADASSSSS!, the 2003 biopic about his legendary dad Melvin–is getting all soaped up on January 29 when he becomes a regular on All My Children. Says zap2it.com: "He'll play Samuel Woods, a prosecutor who's making a run for the Senate. He catches the eye of Susan Lucci's character, Erica Kane, when he appears on her talk show, which leads to, in the breathless words of the ABC press release, 'a lot more than a spike in ratings: Samuel will soon become a nightmare, though one that could turn into a romance!'" Turns out, it isn't the actor-director's first dalliance with daytime drama; the younger Peebles had a short stint on One Life To Live in the early '80s. Of course, there's no way he's topping this role (wait for the Batman gag):
