Walton Goggins to play a hot widower dad for CBS

Aux Features TV

Walton Goggins is no longer the brash, fresh-faced detective mucking shit up on The Shield. No, he’s aged into a salt-and-peppery Southern hunk, and a new CBS comedy called The Unicorn plans to make the ladies go gaga for Goggins.

Variety reports that the Vice Principals star will play a “recent widower and devoted father to two adolescent girls” on the single-camera series, which follows Goggins as he discovers himself to be a “hot commodity” on the local dating scene. Goggins, the show’s namesake “unicorn,” will see his journey take him from “dad” to “daddy.”

This marks Goggins latest go-around with CBS after the network axed last year’s LA Confidential pilot, which we’re just assuming was canceled for failing to exploit his white-hot dad energy.
