Two years removed from the finale of the critically acclaimed, audience-beloved comedy We Are Lady Parts, it looked as though the show was going the way of MacGruber—another Peacock series destined to fade into obscurity because they premiered at a time when no one knew what Peacock was. (Yes, there really was a 10-episode MacGruber series starring Laurence Fishburne in 2021). But much like Girls5Eva, Peacock’s other comedy about an all-female music group, We Are Lady Parts has risen from the ashes. Peacock announced today that all six episodes of season two of We Are Lady Parts will premiere on May 30.
Lady Parts follows an upcoming British punk band comprised of five Muslim women. In the first season, the show follows Amina (Anjana Vasan) as she goes from a microbiology PhD to overcoming her stage fright, which, until now, has caused severe vomiting and diarrhea, as the lead guitarist of Lady Parts. This new season will see the Parts recording their first album and debating the ethics of selling out.
Nida Manzoor still runs the show, and she’s joined, once
again, by stars Vasan, Sarah Kameela Impey, Juliette Motamed, Faith
Omole, Lucie Shorthouse, Aiysha Hart, Zaqi Ismail, and Shobu Kapoor.
This season, they’ll also have some guest stars, with Malala Yousafzai
and Meera Syal popping in to wish the ladies luck.
“In season two, we explore the interior lives of each of the women in more depth. Each of them facing new, existential challenges with all the silliness, pratfalls, and banter of season one,” Manzoor said. “The music is bigger too—more wild original tunes (penned by me and my siblings) and, dare I say it, even better covers. The season overall asks the question of success. What is success? For a punk band – is fame, stadium shows, and major record deals the answer? I wanted to explore the uncomfortable tension between art and commerce and ask how much compromise is too much. I’m really proud of what we achieved and can’t wait to share it with old fans and new.”
All six episodes of We Are Lady Parts season two land on Peacock on May 30.

Hell yeah. This show (and Nida Manzoor’s work in general, ie Polite Society) is such a breath of fresh air. Hoping more people discover it now that Peacock is gaining a biiit of traction in the streaming market. Intriguing how cleaned up they are in the header photo!
Good S02 will arrive – let’s hope the soundtrack contains more bangers as good as ‘Basheer with the Good Beard’ – but it was of course never “another Peacock series destined to fade into obscurity”, because it is a Channel 4 show Peacock bought the US rights for. I mean, probably the only show that is more English than We Are Lady Parts is All Creatures Great & Small.
