in an action comedy already sounds promising. The actor leads as Eileen “Mama” Sun, who lives in California with her younger son, Bruce (Sam Song Li). Their happy existence is to cover up a lie she’s keeping from him: They belong to a huge mafia family, and their rivals are trying to kill them. It’s only when her elder son arrives and forces Bruce to fight that the truth is revealed. It looks like it will lead to some punchy family bonding. [Saloni Gajjar]

The Michelle Yeoh one, is that the Star Trek Discovery spinoff?

Assuming they dont get canceled after one episode…

I really loved Boy Swallows Universe but then I bought Dalton’s second book and quit after two hundred pages (and with another two hundred to go), it just felt like it’d got stuck at a specific point and didn’t know how to get past it. Anyhow, I’ll still definitely check out the tv version of the novel, and hope they capture its charm.

Junkies during the Bjelke-Petersen era? Gonna be fucking WIIIIILD. Dunno how they’ll replicate 80s Brissie, but.

After Seasons 2 (and for that matter the ending of Season 1), “excited” is not quite the word that I would use for True Detective even after the partial rebound in Season 3.More like…cautiously hopeful they might have finally figured out the formula for it, since there’s no doubt at all that Jodie Foster is capable of delivering and the show has certainly had its moments.

I don’t know if I will be disappointed or not if it doesn’t tie into the first season (more than the 3rd season did, of course). Has quite a few connections. I wouldn’t mind them exploring that universe a bit more. Provided it is, of course, good. Six episodes seems somewhat short though.

I’m excited! Though I’m also letting myself think it might be a legit supernatural The Thing kinda thing. So yeah bound to be disappointed.

This is an anthology show, so each season has as much hope as the last. Season 1 ended fine (listen, it’s a very chatty show) but I think they lost sight of genuinely exciting mysteries. I still cannot believe they didn’t decide to continue pulling the thread of the sprawling underground network hinted at in the Fukunaga-directed season.

Needs more weird fiction elements. That’s why everyone liked the Yellow King elements and then they couldn’t stick the landing. Oh, well.

That publicity shot looks like Alaskan Clarice is watching a particularly vexing Tiktok.I’m calling this season of TD The Silence Of The Salmon.

So does Boy actually Swallow Universe, or….??

  • harleybretl-av says:

How can Marvel say that Echo is not connected to the MCU when Kingpin and Daredevil are in it, not to mention Echo (and Kingpin) appeared in Hawkeye which is in the MCU?

    • zirconblue-av says:

I think they’re just peeling off the street-level heroes into their own sub-Universe.

    • nell-from-the-movie-nell--av says:

They’re trying to communicate to non core fans that you don’t have to do homework to watch and enjoy the show.

The most difficult thing about being a serial killer in the True Detective universe is developing your own unique murder-symbol. This symbol is to be painted or etched at crime scenes; scribbled within discovered notebooks; and rendered super-sized on the walls of eerie abandoned buildings, possibly revealed by flashlight after a detective follows-up on an unlikely lead.Helpfully, authorities can point to this symbol and say “My, God. I’ve seen that before,” while music intensifies.

    • thepetemurray-darlingbasinauthorithy-av says:

Maybe there’s like a Clown Egg Register for serial killers. Except instead of painting on eggs, they paint on human skulls.

Boy Swallows Universe was going to be the name of my all-men bukkake series.

  • voldermortkhan-av says:

I love a lot of the actors so fingers crossed.

“a clever con artist who teams up with a disgraced police detective”Ah yes standard operating procedure for police departments. We need someone to help us solve crimes, roll the wheel of consultants…what do we have..let’s see where the wheel will stop…a mentalist….a mystery writer….a con man….an artificial human….Tigers Are Not Afraid is excellent.

  • robgrizzly-av says:

I’m interested in Griselda, even if it elicited a few chuckles from me. These drug kingpin stories need the kind of spoof Walk Hard did for musical biopics.

So I watched the trailer of “Criminal Record”.An old white man is trying to prevent a young black woman to reopen an investigation about a black man who may be innocent and falsely accused. Who is right and who is wrong ?What a mystery ! Like there is any chance the old white man is right and the young black woman is wrong  and the black guy is really the bad guy ? Seriously.

Excited for FEUD: Capote Vs. The Swans for a couple of reasons. Gus van Sant directs all 8 episodes, and Ryan Murphy does not. 🙂

From the logo font to the styling, if you told me Wild Cards was filmed in 2002 I would believe you. Not really an insult, just an admiration of the most throwback seeming concept. Given the success of Suits and similar shows, I think the public actually has an appetite for something that would have shown up on TBS in 2009.

  • MrCynicalMan-av says:

Wow that Wild Cards, remember when it felt like 1/3rd of all tv shows were “person with powers/certain skills teams up with police officer to solve crime of the week”

Charlie cox is neither blind nor deaf, and Daredevil isn’t deaf, he’s blind.

Hmm in Echo, the main character is played by Alaqua Cox, and Daredevil is played by Charlie Cox… 🤔🤔
