Welcome to the weekend edition of What’s On. Here are the big things happening on TV from Friday, March 1 to Sunday, March 3. All times are Eastern. [Note: The weekly edition of What’s On publishes on Sundays.]

1. Noel Fielding embarks on The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin

The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin — Official Trailer | Apple TV+

Apple TV+, Friday, 12:01 a.m.: Noel Fielding’s new TV adventure takes him from cooking to thieving. The Bake-Off star leads The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin, which, yes, has a bit of an Our Flag Means Death vibe. The historical comedy follows highway robber Dick Turpin, who works with his merry band of outlaws while also trying to escape noted criminal Jonathan Wild (Hugh Bonneville). The cast includes Asim Chaudhry, Tamsin Greig, and Ellie White. Here’s a bit from The A.V. Club’s review:

Palmer must have written Made-Up Adventures with Fielding in mind; from his goth-glam style to his soft yet biting delivery to his general aura of pleasantness, this iteration of Turpin could be played by no one else. Meanwhile, Bonneville gets the chance to show off comedic chops we never would have guessed he had in the Downton Abbey days.

2. Adam Sandler stars in sci-fi newbie Spaceman

Netflix, Friday, 3:01 a.m.: Directed by Johan Renck, Spaceman is a sci-fi drama about Jakub Procházka (Adam Sandler), an astronaut sent to the solar system’s edge to retrieve ancient dust. He resorts to seeking advice about his failing personal life from a creature lurking on his spaceship who has been around since the beginning of time. Kunal Nayyar, Paul Dano, Lena Olin, and Isabella Rossellini co-star.

3. Prime Video drops British thriller Dead Hot

Also mourning his loss is his lover, Elliot (Bilal Hasna). Still reeling from the heartbreak five years later, Jess and Elliott attempt to move on—and, of course, as soon as they do, their lives get complicated. She’s contacted by a man who claims to be her sibling, while Elliott’s new love interest has dark secrets of his own.

4. Sydney Sweeney takes over Saturday Night Live

Sydney Sweeney Is Hosting SNL!

NBC, Saturday, 11:30 p.m.: To no one’s surprise, SNL has booked Sydney Sweeney, the Euphoria star who most recently appeared in Anyone But You and Madame Web, to host. Kacey Musgraves, whose new album Deeper Well drops next month, is the night’s musical guest. The A.V. Club’s recap of the evening publishes on Sunday.
