Here we go again: Game Of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss adapt another complex book into a TV show. Along with Alexander Woo, they bring Liu Cixin’s novel The Three-Body Problem to life. The sci-fi drama follows astrophysicist Ye Wenjie (Rosalind Chao), who witnessed her father’s brutal murder. Years later, her fateful decision at a secret military base has catastrophic effects across space and time. Benedict Wong, Jovan Adepo, Eiza Gonzalez, Jess Hong, John Bradley, and Alex Sharp co-star. Doug Liman’s reimagining of the 1989 film Road House is already on streaming, much to the director’s chagrin. The movie centers on Dalton (Jake Gyllenhaal), a former UFC fighter whose new job at a Florida joint isn’t as neat and tidy as he thought it would be. The cast of this action thriller includes Conor McGregor, Jessica Williams, Billy Magnussen, Lukas Gage, and Daniela Melchior. The A.V. Club’s review goes up this week.
