The White Lotus has confirmed at least a few of the guests who will be checking in for the HBO anthology series’ third season. Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, and Tayme Thapthimthong are all set to join the cast when the show begins production in Thailand next month, per Variety. The six join returning cast member Natasha Rothwell, who appeared in the show’s first season as Belinda, the spa manager who had her dreams dashed by Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya McQuoid.

Specific details about the plot and characters of this season are still being kept under wraps, but we’ve received a few clues. When season two ended, White opined that the main theme of season one was money, season two was sex, and thought season three should be death. Given that both of the preceding seasons have kicked off with a dead body, that seems like a natural fit. It was also previously reported in November that series creator Mike White was on the hunt for thirteen new cast members for the season; if that still holds true, we can expect at least seven more casting announcements in the coming weeks and months.

In somewhat of a bizarre twist, a tip that the anonymous Instagram account Deux Moi published yesterday actually seemed to be fairly accurate (something about a broken clock, maybe). The tip correctly identified Bibb, Isaacs, Monaghan, Posey, and Rothwell as part of the cast. Obviously, this could all be a coincidence, and we cannot independently confirm anything. But for those who care to play into the mostly baseless speculation game, names like Woody Harrelson, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Carrie Coon were also rumored to be involved. In any case, we likely won’t see any of these characters onscreen much before 2025.

Was just wondering about timing for this show now that the strikes are over. Good news filming is about to start!!

Carrie Coon of course would be amazing, along with a return of Connie Britton (along with Rothwell). Dream cast would include Donald Glover, Natasha Lyonne, Nathan Handler, Steve Carrell, Myha’la Herrold, and Tim Robinson and Sam Richardson.

There is nothing better than Parker Posey receiving more work. If she and Aubrey Plaza could just work on something together, I could die happy.

Years back I worked as a PA on the Ontario set of “And Now A Word From Our Sponsors” and Parker Posey was in it and I got to be within earshot of her on several occasions over the course of like 2 weeks. What I’m saying is I’m 1 degree of separation from The White Lotus now haha.

I hope they are letting Isaacs wear an amazing wig

Parker Posey feels like the absolute perfect fit for White Lotus. In many ways, a spiritual successor to Jennifer Coolidge. And please let the Carrie Coon rumor be true, she is incredible.

I’m excited for the new season, and am always happy to see Leslie Bibb pop up in things. I’ve like her work going all the way back to Popular (despite that show being a grim warming of all of the typical Ryan Murphyness of the decades to come.) She’s one of those actors who always brings her A-game with charisma to spare, but her contributions seem to be relatively unsung in fan discourse. Excited to see what she brings to the White Lotus (and glad Belinda is coming back as well)

Hell yeah Leslie Bibb. Maybe she can bring some of that Talladega Nights crazy/hot axis energy.

I don’t think the series can or should move away from the backwards-murder-mystery conceit. But at some point isn’t it going to feel silly that every White Lotus location has a dead body turn up under convoluted circumstances? It’s like how Angela Lansbury tried to take a vacation on Murder She Wrote, and then had to solve a murder while on vacation.

    • nell-from-the-movie-nell--av says:

Murder mystery shows are inherently unrealistic, but I think they get enough fun mileage out of the “who will it be” that I don’t mind it so much. Especially since they sidestep the boring question of whodunnit (everyone else does that) and instead play a game of “guess which narrative thread ends in death.” Also, Angela Lansbury would be so great on WL.

I think it helps that the deaths last time didn’t happen at the hotel. It’d be a big news story but I don’t see why anyone would mention what hotel the dead people were staying at. But yeah they should stop doing that or end the series before it gets too silly.

      • egerz-av says:

Yeah I guess that’s a scenario where it’s a huge coincidence that Tanya was staying at one White Lotus location at the same time as Armond’s death, and then she’s staying at another White Lotus location when she dies — but the general public might not connect the dots because her death occurred at sea.Her body was discovered on a private beach located on White Lotus property though, right? It’s the kind of thing a TV show has to do to maintain the premise, I just think that while the structure of the series lends itself to constantly remixing itself with different guests, there are limits to how many times a White Lotus guest can find a body during their stay at a different exotic locale.

Parker Posey is so fucking hot. There, I said it.

  • badkuchikopi-av says:

I wonder, is it possible Belinda could be a guest this time? I could see Tanya feeling bad and grateful for her help and leaving her a decent chunk of money.
