Will Smith shares heartwarming trailer for HBO Max's Fresh Prince reunion

As news swirls of a “gritty” Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air reboot, the cast of the original sitcom is reuniting next week to reminisce about the show, memorialize the late James Avery, and even hash out some hard feelings.
As we reported earlier this year, Janet “The Original Aunt Viv” Hubert will sit down with Smith for a chat that’s sure to be a touch testy, what with Hubert having previously written a book demonizing her co-stars. Her appearance is teased in a new trailer for the reunion, as is some lighter fare.

Smith is joined by Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid, Alfonso Ribeiro, and even DJ Jazzy Jeff for the bulk of the reunion, which was filmed on the show’s set on the 30th anniversary of the premiere. They all look so good! And Raphael Saadiq did the music? Neat!
It premieres on HBO Max, the official U.S. streaming home of the series, on November 19.

There’s a stupid, but great joke from this show I still remember. Will set Hillary with a guy that had a beauty mark for a double date, which she just couldn’t stop staring at. “Stop making a mountain out of a mole Hil!”
There’s tons of great jokes in the show. Like Jazz getting scammed with counterfeit bills. “You should know by now the Jackson on the twenty dollar bill ain’t supposed to be Jermaine!”
My fav is a line from an outtake they showed on one of those outtake roundups they used to air in primetime, where Carlton was trying to say “But it’ll cut into my trick or treating time!” but could not stop rolling “But” and “it’ll” together. I still say it today.
I 100% remember this joke, and it was one of my favorites. Even at my relatively young age, I was like, “That’s so clever. Who wrote that?”
Francesca: “Hillary, you haven’t approved anything I wanted for this wedding” (granted she did want the bridemaids to wear dickeys) Hillary: “Well, I agreed you should wear white and we all know that’s a stretch”They cut to Geoffrey’s face and even he was like “Ouch.”
I will admit that I teared up a little when they mentioned James Avery in the trailer.
I tear up a bit when James Avery is mentioned almost anywhere.He was everyone’s Uncle Phil.
But he was only my Shredder.
There’s something…very wistful about seeing cast reunions after a long period of time. I mean, seeing that reunion of the Back to the Future(My favorite movie and I’m not a movie guy)and seeing Christopher Lloyd in his returning role as Emmett “Doc” Brown barely able to move(but still retaining his mentality and acting prowess, imo with is awesome)let alone speak rubbed me in the wrong way.I grew up watching Bel Air and while the cast aged great, it doesn’t detract from this feeling that makes the gap of unconscionable time that has went by and not even nostalgia is able to paint glitter over it.
Tl;dr: I’m old.
Looking forward to seeing Will and OG Aunt Viv square off.
