Yes, the terrible Joan Crawford movie Trog will appear in the Feud finale

TV Features TV

Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Sunday, April 23. All times are Eastern.

Top picks

Feud (FX, 10 p.m.): The first season of Feud wraps up a magnificent run tonight, as Bette and Joan reach the end of their careers, and lives, and take stock of all the havoc they’ve wreaked on themselves, and each other. This first season already hit a series high bar that Feud’s next effort would have a hard time reaching even if it weren’t going to be about Charles and Diana. So we’ll just have to soak up every last moment with Bette, Joan, Hedda, Olivia, and other Joan as they grapple with declining health, newly blond hair, and Trog. Gwen Ihnat is already selecting the perfect housecoat/cocktail accompaniment.

Silicon Valley (HBO, 10:00 p.m.): The Big Heads return for their fourth season tonight, as Richard sets off on his own quest to create a new internet (aided, of course, by Jared). Danette Chavez watched a bunch of new episodes already and reports: “Once again, the power plays are fast and furious, the reversals of fortune swift enough to catch even the non-Big Heads among them off guard. It can get a bit overwhelming in the first third of the season, but all the maneuvering is setting up what could be an incredibly satisfying payoff.” That’s good news for reviewer Les Chappell, and for all of us, really.

Regular coverage

Fox returns! Except for The Simpsons!

Bob’s Burgers (Fox, 7:30, 8 p.m.)
Once Upon A Time (ABC, 8 p.m.)
The Leftovers (HBO, 9 p.m.)
Last Man On Earth (Fox, 9:30 p.m.)
American Crime (ABC, 10 p.m.)
Elementary (CBS, 10 p.m.)
Billions (Showtime, 10 p.m.)
Veep (HBO, 10:30 p.m.)

Wild card

Mary Kills People (Lifetime, 10:02 p.m.): After its recent original series programming success with the Peabody Award-winning UnREAL, Lifetime is expanding by adding another series, Mary Kills People. Really Mary’s more like a benevolent Dexter: a surgeon who also performs mercy killings on the side. Early reviews have been solid, and Caroline Dhavernas knows about straddling the line between life and death from her time on Hannibal. This show might be good for whiling away time on Lifetime until UnREAL’s third season starts.
