4AD announces deluxe vinyl/CD reissues of This Mortal Coil albums

This Mortal Coil, the gothic dream-pop collective led by 4AD founder Ivo Watts-Russell, released three gorgeous, hugely influential albums between 1984 and 1991: It’ll End In Tears, Filigree & Shadow, and Blood. The label announced today that all three LPs will be reissued with “remastered audio made from the original analogue studio tapes” and new artwork by Ivo Watts-Russell and Vaughan Oliver (4AD’s long-time visual partner), presented in “beautiful, hand finished, and high-gloss gatefold sleeves.”

Manufactured by Ichikudo company in Japan, the deluxe CD editions will be packaged in high-quality gatefold paper sleeves, and improve upon those found in the 2011 limited box set by being UHQCDs (Ultimate High Quality Compact Disc) rather than HDCDs (High Definition Compatible Digital).

The reissues will arrive October 26, just in time to soundtrack the dead of fall.
