The Met Gala is one of the main six or seven times a year that famous people get to dress fancy for the sake of dressing fancy. We’re not celebrating movies, we’re not celebrating television, we’re just celebrating dressing up, having money, and maybe some people’s ability to understand and adhere to a theme. This year’s theme at least isn’t very complicated: “In Honor Of Karl,” referring to famed fashion designer (among… other things) Karl Lagerfeld. That’s at least an easy theme to ignore, so all that really matters is the fashion—the only thing that ever really mattered anyway.
Here’s a slideshow of some of the most famous people to grace the Met Gala this year in their fabulous Lagerfeld-inspired attire.

You gonna leave out my boy Pedro?!
Why is it that Kristin Stewart looks more like Robert Pattinson that he doesAlso just because that’s your stage name doesn’t mean you actually have to do…all that, Doja Cat
haha, its eerie how much she looks like Pattison!
is it just me or all of of this pics cropped so most of the look is missing?
Looks like they fixed it.
If you’re going to include pictures in an article explicitly mentioning dressing fancy, why cut the pics and miss most of their outfits?
Not only is the title updated, but the pics are fixed. Thank you!!!
Kim K, what is that dress?
Saw many pictures of this event and I wonder why there is such a problem with the men outfits: shoes that do not fit the suit, suits that are too short or too big, unintentionally baggy clothing that is not fixed by a boring belt, and in general the monochromatic Matrix like black colours with sunglasses. Why not replace the sunglasses with headpieces for example?I really like what Jared Leto did. Though he must have been sweating a lot.
Jared Leto took off the entire cat costume on the carpet not long after he entered and changed into a (rather dull) all black ensemble with a cape. You can see it here if you scroll down a bit:https://www.harpersbazaar.com/celebrity/latest/a43760554/jared-leto-met-gala-2023/Don’t doubt he might have gotten sweaty while in the full suit, but he wasn’t in it super long and it was pretty cool out in NYC yesterday.
I prefer Jez’s take , which is mainly points out Lagerfeld is a fucking arsehole.
