Adele has hit the pause button on her Las Vegas residency. Earlier today, the “Rolling In The Deep” singer announced on her various social channels that she would need to reschedule her current string of shows as per doctor’s orders. Unfortunately, Adele is sick and has been sick for some time. The postponed dates are March 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, and 30.

On Elon Musk’s petri dish of Nazis, cryptocurrency, and influencers unable to give up the endorphin hit of likes and retweets, Adele explained. The singer said she was sick during the last leg of her residency and the illness never quite subsided. “I hadn’t quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I’m sick again,” she wrote. Adele continued, that it’s “taken a toll” on her voice, which we simply cannot abide and concur that bed rest is needed.

The singer began her “Weekends With Adele” residency in November 2022 and is expected to run through June 2024. It hasn’t been without its share of delays. The show started with one. “Weekends with Adele” was originally set to begin in January 2022. However, illness struck in the form of COVID-19. During the omicron surge, Adele announced that “half my crew, half my team are down with COVID.”

Luckily for Adele, people really like her music and continue buying tickets for her concerts. As such, Weekends With Adele has been extended numerous times. “Playing to 4,000 people for 34 nights is not enough, and I know that, so I am coming back,” said Adele upon announcing 34 new dates earlier this year. “I’ll be back for a few weeks in June, and I’m gonna film it, and I’m gonna release it to make sure that anyone who wants to see this show can see it.”

We suppose that also means we can expect an Era Tour-style concert movie coming to AMC Theaters sometime in the not-so-distant future. In the meantime, feel better, Adele.
