Alison Brie and Jason Sudeikis try not to have sex in new Sleeping With Other People trailer

In the new red-band trailer for Sleeping With Other People, “love addicts” Lainey (Alison Brie) and Jake (Jason Sudeikis) try their darndest not to sleep with each other. But that task is made especially difficult when Lainey slow-motion dances in a red bikini top while on Molly at a child’s birthday party and when Jake teaches a little lesson about the clitoris with the help of a glass jar. Luckily, there’s a safe word for when things get a little too ridden with sexual tension: “dick in a mouse trap.”
“We’re not a couple, but we act like one,” Lainey says, as the two try to convince each other their story is headed anywhere other than a rom-com ending. But hey, writer-director Leslye Headland, who also wrote and directed the underappreciated Bachelorette, already shows a knack for throwing rom-com conventions to the wayside—or at least having a little bit of fun with them. And even if we’re pretty sure we know where things are headed between Lainey and Jake, Brie and Sudeikis are engaging and charming enough to make us invested in the journey. Plus, they’ve got quite the team of supporting characters at their side. Adam Scott, Adam Brody, Amanda Peet, Jason Mantzoukas, Natasha Lyonne, and Andrea Savage all pop up in the trailer to offer some emotional guidance to the cute little serial cheaters.
