From AP: Richard Gere was burned in effigy in India today as a wave of protests swept the country, following the release of photographs and video footage showing Gere smooching Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty during a charity event in New Delhi. Such PDAs are largely taboo in India. Gere, no stranger to international controversy, has yet to officially respond.
