Andy Serkis’ directorial debut, Breathe, explores the life of the late Robin Cavendish, a disability rights advocate who was paralyzed from the neck down after a bout with polio at age 28. In the film, Cavendish, played by Andrew Garfield, travels the world, working with his wife to improve the mobility and quality of life of people with disabilities. In our brief interview, Serkis talks about his experience directing Garfield in the role.
