Bo Peep made a triumphant return in Toy Story 4, having refashioned herself, as our review put it, as a “take-no-shit nomad survivor, liberated by life on the road and her lack of attachment to any one child.” Well, if you’re wondering how she snapped off that lamp, found her voice, and landed in a thrift store, you’re in luck, as Disney+ is dropping a short film later this month that tells her Toy Story 4 origin story.
Watch a trailer for the short, titled “Lamp Life,” below.
“Lamp Life” joins a handful of other Toy Story shorts on Disney+, including “Forky Asks A Question” and the numerous Toy Story Toons. “Lamp Life” will be available for streaming on the platform on January 31.

I know it was not everyone’s cup of tea, but I really liked Bo and Toy Story 4 in general. It’s slighter, by design, than the previous three, but it functions nicely as an epilogue about Woody. The emphasis on hope and change does run counter to the message of the preceding films but somehow that didn’t bother me.
The only thing that sticks out to me is how pissed Andy would probably be with Bonnie. “Here, take this cherished childhood toy of mine and let it bring you years of memories and laughter like it did for me.”…..aaaaaaand it’s lost.
I mean, less lost than purposefully left which wasn’t her fault.
BTW the Forky Asks a Question shorts are friggin’ hilarious.
Ill agree. They also constitute the only thing my kids watched on D+, cancelled 3 weeks in.
Whaaat?! Nooo!
Looks like fun, but I honestly thought this was about Bo Peep’s design improvements from 1995’s Toy Story to the current version.
