Brie Larson will also be in Fast & Furious 10
Larson will be playing someone "timeless and amazing" to the series' mythology
Aux News Brie Larson![Brie Larson will also be in Fast & Furious 10](https://img.pastemagazine.com/wp-content/avuploads/2022/04/15013814/3d232b3fb374e88d7cbb95b4de916169.jpg)
With only two more movies to go before The Fast & The Furious literally drives off into the sunset, the world’s movie stars are running out of opportunities to show up in those movies as bad guys who immediately become good guys and are then eventually written out of the series, which is probably why some famous people are jumping on while they still can. We heard a month ago that Jason Momoa was going to play a “very flamboyant bad boy” in the penultimate Fast movie, and now we know that Brie Larson will be joining the Family as well.
Vin Diesel shared the news on his Instagram, saying she’ll be playing someone who is introduced in Fast 10 and that “you have no idea how timeless and amazing she will be in our mythology.” He also added that “beyond her beauty, her intellect… her Oscar” this “profound soul will add something you might not have expected but yearned for.”
So that’s… a lot. But let’s take a wild swing and guess who she’s playing: She’s important to the “mythology” of the series and we know the series is all about la familia, in more ways than one (given John Cena playing Dom’s brother in Fast 9). Maybe she’ll be playing Dom, Jakob, and Mia’s mom in a flashback sequence? They went to the trouble of casting a pretty good young Dom in the last movie (Vinnie Bennett), so why not milk those previously unmentioned childhood epiphanies a little more?
Dom’s dad was a race car driver who taught his kids that cars are cool, maybe Dom’s mother was a secret agent who was always on ridiculous globe-spanning adventures? It would tie together the two distinct halves of the Fast series and reveal that Dom was destined to always become a car-driving superhero rather than just being a man who inexplicably went from stealing DVD players to foiling drug dealers to trying to stop evil satellites (or whatever the hell was going on in F9).
Either way, this is another example of a famous actor demanding that they be cast in a Fast & Furious movie, with The Hollywood Reporter pointing out that Larson did an interview with Uproxx back in February where she said she’s “obsessed” with the series and that it is “one hundred percent” her dream to be in one of them. Helen Mirren had also said similar things before being cast in the series, later appearing as the mother of Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw. We’re just saying they’ve done this exact thing before.

The Fast & The Furious —> The Fast and the Furious (the title of the first film) OR Fast & Furious (the name of the franchise) – yes, it’s stupid, but The Fast & The Furious definitely isn’t any kind of thingAnd if anyone thinks this is nitpicky, a website like this is literally the place where you’re most obligated to get these things right
No, they’re only obligated to use the latest in pop psychology to bring in as many eyeballs as possible to drive revenue. It’s like Jim Spanfeller doesn’t exist to you people.
AVC’s fallen so far that even the gimmick commenters suck now
It’s not a gimmick. I’m providing a valuable public service
I assume that when you don’t end your sentences with periods, it’s completely intentional. But why?
To me these comments are akin to chatroom messages, and back in the day if you put a period at the end of your chat messages you looked like the most pretentious twat on Earth
That actually makes perfect sense.
However, now full stops on comments are okay and AV Club evidently doesn’t think it’s “obligated to get these things right”.
But hey, we make our own fun.
the period goes inside the quotes.
Ha.
Then again, the source of the quote intended not to use a period, so I don’t want to misquote them. 😛

Delusions of grandeur.
I’m being sarcastic, numbnuts
Reading the room and sarcasm. Two things you’re bad at.
Urectum? U nearly killed ‘um!
Be careful not to romanticize the past too much. Cookie Monster was a virulent racist and a Kaiser Wilhelm II apologist, for example.
And yet, ZODIAC MOTHERFUCKER was completely normal.
MAXIMUM OWNAGE, BITCH
I saw someone on Twitter suggest Brian’s sister and I can see that.
Given what they did in 9, I’m assuming she’ll be Brian’s sister.
Or the mother of Dom but aged up with make up like Mandy Moore in This is Us.
They really don’t need to bring anymore attention to Brian not being around by having his sister there but not him. Even this series brought Jordana back since the family part of the story involved her too in f9.
This franchise must either kill off Dom or convince Vin Diesel that Dom is not actually the super cool and tough absolute best character. It’s totally fine that the crew has evolved from meathead idiots who steal TV/VCR sets to pay for parts on their Honda Civics to, like, superheroes, but I cannot take another 2+ hour extravaganza where every character is obsessed with Dom, who spends his time croaking out barely comprehensible lines. Diesel is less charismatic with each movie; it’s insane.
This franchise will score infinite points if they just go ahead and name Larson’s character Mary Sue. Although then again, Dom is already the Mary Susiest of them all.
Isn’t the appeal that every single character is a Mary Sue?
“if they just go ahead and name Larson’s character Mary Sue.” – Fun fact: Agents of SHIELD did exactly that. Skye/Daisy’s orphanage name was Mary Sue Poots.
And yet ironically Daisy is not a Mary Sue, almost the contrary given most people don’t seem to like her and she’s not better at stuff than others.
The male version is Gary Stu
Crossover with the Chronicles of Riddick multiverse by bringing Dame Judy Dench.
*recognitions enters the chat*
That jerk is E. Buzz Miller, AKA, Dom, AKA, many others.
But, both Bries have those in spade though. Have you seen Alison Brie’s?
Oh yeah, you mean “Truth” and “Beauty”.
I wish Brie Larson was in better movies. Short Term 12 & Room are phenomenal films. I liked Scott Pilgrim and Just Mercy, but ever since Captain Marvel, Brie is just cashing in for an easy paycheck. Go get your money, girl, I guess.
I wish Brie Larson was better in movies.
She was good on The League. But who wasn’t, really?
She was great in that but as you said who isn’t and alsp who isn’t great when they were in a scene with Raffi!
She was in Community. It’s all inevitably unavoidably downhill from there.
She lost any good will I had for her when she started shilling NFTs.
Her career has been weird in recent years. She had several failed prestige projects in 2017 after her Oscar-winning film Room. But then she hasn’t done anything but Marvel films (and Just Mercy) since. You’d think she would be in demand for more projects.
She’s still only 32. Even if you consider the shortened clock Hollywood places on female stars, she’s got, what, 15 years to do some blockbusters / get another Oscar / make a whole bunch of money?
Oh please let her be playing Captain Marvel with absolutely no explanation.
Vin would never allow it.
Yes.
Doesn’t she already do that in the MCU?
I’m not surprised that Brie would pick a…..cheesy movie to act in.
*puts on sunglasses*?
Given her real name is neither Brie nor Larson, no not really.
If her stage name is intentionally cheesy, why should her choice of roles be any different?
For the life of me, I cannot keep Brie Larson and Alison Brie straight in my head.
One of them is made of cheese, the other isn’t.
same. except brie larson and brie olson
Fast 10 Furious
Fast 10 yer seatbelt, we about to get Furious up in here!
I’ve avoided any F&F movie so as not to diminish my respect for Diesel and Larson will always have Room and Captain Marvel (which was marvelous). But she “demanded” to be in F&F? That’s a nasty, sullen take.
That top photo is always appreciated. She is pretty damn stunning in it.
Will she pilot a sailboat into outer space or something?
She’ll play the daughter of the truck driver played by Kevin Sorbo in the first movie from the last heist, the one who shot Vince. His life was ruined with lawsuits to pay for Vince’s medical bills (you think airlifts are cheap?), and he became an alt-right insurrectionist, railing against the government he thinks let him down. Brie, meanwhile, heartbroken from being completely alienated from her father, invented video streaming so no truck driver would ever get heisted for DVD players ever again, got super wealthy from it, and has sworn vengeance against Dom and his crew. She’ll have to work with them though, to stop her dad from unleashing the full power of the MacGuffinator on Washington D.C. though, and throwing his life away forever. She understands the importance of *Vin Diesel growl*family*/Diesel*.
I’m for this 100%!
God damn I love these dumb movies so incredibly much.
