It’s finally time to retire the psychedelic lasers and hypnotic melting color oceans of music visualizers past. A true successor, ready to lend visual accompaniment to any possible song, has arrived in the unlikeliest of forms: a dancing Armie Hammer.
In a clip taken from the upcoming Call Me By Your Name, Hammer’s character Oliver dances his heart out in spellbinding fashion, celebrating the genetic lottery he won at birth by awkwardly shuffling around in khaki shorts to the Psychedelic Furs.
Charming enough on its own, the video got even better when the internet discovered that 2017's version of The Hammer Dance pairs well with just about any song you can think of. Aptly named Twitter account armie dancing to has set to work cataloging the phenomenon.
Maybe the cream of the crop, though, is a tucked-shirt Hammer getting down to “Gasolina.”
In patronage to the modern Dionysus, the account is also more than willing to sculpt further pieces to appease its god.
