Foo Fighters announce performers for Taylor Hawkins tribute concerts
The rockers will play one show in London and another in Los Angeles in honor of their late drummer

Foo Fighters has announced the performers for its Taylor Hawkins tribute concerts in London and Los Angeles this September. The rockers will perform two shows to honor their late drummer, one at London’s Wembley Stadium on September 3rd and the other at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum on September 27th. Hawkins died unexpectedly in March at the age of 50, while Foo Fighters was on tour in South America.
The band shared the lineup for the London show on Twitter Wednesday morning.
A wide variety of Hawkins’ friends, peers, and influences will perform at the London show, including Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor, Rush’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, Pretenders lead singer Chrissie Hynde, Oasis’ Liam Gallagher, Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, Supergrass, and Mark Ronson. Comedian Dave Chappelle has been billed as a special guest.
Rounding out the lineup are Jane’s Addiction’s Chris Chaney, the Police’s Stewart Copeland, Omar Hakim, Rufus Taylor (a touring member of Queen), Wolfgang Van Halen, Chevy Metal, a Hawkins cover band, John Paul Jones, Alain Johannes, Nandi Bushell, Nile Rodgers, Krist Novoselic, Greg Kurstin and a special appearance by Chris Rock.
The band also announced the lineup for the Los Angeles show in a separate tweet, with many headliners returning. New additions to the lineup include: Miley Cyrus, Joan Jett, Alanis Morissette, Gene Simmons, Nikki Sixx, The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, The Struts’ Luke Spiller, Queens of the Stone Age’s drummer Jon Theodore, Brad Wilk, Weezer’s Pat Wilson, P!NK, LeAnn Rimes, John Paul Jones, Alain Johannes, Nancy Wilson, Krist Novoselic and Greg Kurstin
When the show was first announced last week, Foo Fighters shared a heartfelt statement about Hawkins and his legacy to its website.
“As one of the most respected and beloved figures in modern music, Taylor’s monolithic talent and magnetic personality endeared him to millions of fans, peers, friends and fellow musical legends the world over,” the group wrote.
“Millions mourned his untimely passing on March 25, with passionate and sincere tributes coming from fans as well as musicians Taylor idolized,” the statement continued. “The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts will unite several of those artists, the Hawkins family and of course his Foo Fighters brothers in celebration of Taylor’s memory and his legacy as a global rock icon—his bandmates and his inspirations playing the songs that he fell in love with, and the ones he brought to life.”
Tickets for the show will go on sale on Friday, June 17. Proceeds from the concerts will go to charities in the U.K. and U.S. selected by the Hawkins family.

He’s a longtime friend of both Taylor and the rest of the band, of course he’ll be there. And he should be.
Except that the order was refused in every venue for lack of evidence. In a divorce, it is not uncommon to see one party or the other make such accusations, regardless of the legitimacy of the accusations. Given that the complainant was repeatedly unsuccessful and has actually been penalized by the court for violating visitation terms, it’s reasonable to think that this is a contentious divorce playing out.I don’t dispute that there are plenty of complaints of abuse and requests for restraining orders that are perfectly legitimate. However, I’ve been witness to too, too many divorces and custody disputes were children are manipulated by one spouse or the other or where complaints of abuse are filed in the hopes of creating leverage or reputational damage to a (former) spouse, etc. It’s not easy, when the natural inclination is to accept allegations of abuse, to have to perform the due diligence of investigating the allegations in the shadow of a family law dispute. That said, when court investigators can’t support a filing by children, let alone a former spouse, it’s telling.

There’s no way I could ever attend but the possibility of Alex Lifeson, Geddy Lee, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and Stewart Copeland being on stage together fills me with such nerd wonder… nerdnder, if you will…. that I literally can’t think of words to describe how excited it makes me.
Oh good Dave Chappelle is participating that’s great. Can’t wait to hear about him making a joke about Taylor Hawkins identifying as dead now.
Those two shows have an amazing line up. I just hope it doesn’t end up being some kind of crazy farewell sendoff for Dave and the rest of the Foos.
