In case you were wondering, Bill Hader is well-aware that his It counterpart Finn Wolfhard looks like a mix of him and his Saturday Night Live co-star Andy Samberg. This is one of several things they discuss in an extremely fun and candid interview for Glamour Magazine, which brings the young and old versions of Richie Tozier face to face. With an age difference of, ahem, 24 years, 6 months, and 17 days, they’re asked questions that ignite a conversation about the perils of fame and the work of which they’re most proud.

Wolfhard—who has clearly binged Barry—tells Hader he’s the “greatest comedian/filmmaker of our time.” Hey, bold statement, but we won’t argue. Hader, meanwhile, is a fan of how the 16-year-old Stranger Things star is handling his success. Cue the collective aww’s because it’s honestly just a really solid 5-minute compliment session between the two.

For their next interview together, they really need to do is give us an update on whether Hader finally accepted Wolfhard’s gift of a framed photo of the young actor. The entire teenage cast of It gave their adult Losers Club counterparts a similar present, but, as this Buzzfeed article notes, Hader thought displaying it in his home would just be “super weird.” He’s not wrong.

“New York’s hottest club is *Richie Tozier*. Located in the middle of promoting IT 2, this place has everything: several things, an extremely fun and candid interview for Glamour Magazine, the young and old versions of Richie Tozier face to face, and Wolfhard—who has clearly binged Barry—telling Hader he’s the ‘greatest comedian/filmmaker of our time”…. that’s where Wolfhard—who has clearly binged Barry—tells Hader he’s the ‘greatest comedian/filmmaker of our time…’”~ Stefon on Club Richie Tozier

Lots of attempts here to overthink what was a fun interview by two actors one of which (Hader) has granted so many in the last year I don’t know how he has time to do anything else. Honestly, I don’t know the guy but I love his work. and I think we are seeing the emergence of the real Hader and his ability to create and tell a story in ways others haven’t thought to. I saw It Chapter 2 and I loved it. The creatures were very, lets say, imaginative, (gross). Hader was a standout character. McAvoy was also incredible. The children cast in the It movies are all so astoundingly talented. I adore seeing child actors that pull off those incredibly emotional scenes. Where do they draw from? Bill Hader is already an icon. From what I can see he is adored and respected by his fellow actors and that tells me all I need to know. Take a vacation Bill. You have more than earned it.

These interviews have been a lot of fun. Bill Hader has been over this press tour from the start and manages to work that into many interviews in many entertaining ways. One of my favorites is the one where he claimed there was a deleted scene in the movie where he does the Dirty Dancing lift with James McAvoy and then “fucks the shit” out of him (with Bill and James Ransone collapsing with laughter as they see the horrified, offcamera publicist). This one, where he immediately calls out a recap video for being pointless and stupid (with Finn Wolfhard cracking up) is another good one:

The VF video showed how the kids have really aged in such few years, but I gotta say the effects they used to make the kids appear younger in the second movie was really jarring. For instance, they changed Jack Grazer back to his previous height, but not Wolfhard. Their faces also looked weird.
