”Hooray For Ames” is this summer’s hottest and dumbest new jam

Summer is about to kick off, and there’s no better way to do it than with a rollicking song and video for a fresh summer jam. ”Hooray For Ames” isn’t just a catchy tune and a pretty sweet video; it also highlights a great destination for anyone interested in clean water and people being from Brooklyn. ”Hooray For Ames” is the fantastic result of merging Parks & Recreation with Rebecca Black.

Allegedly this was a “spoof music video” made by local initiative Water Rocks! for Iowa State University, but there is too much sincerity in the college town love these people have to really believe the whole thing’s a joke. Some of the highlights outsiders should know about Ames? It has four seasons, amazing water, and “many cultures live together without any wars.” There’s no word about the prevalence of roving groups of musicians jamming out in their trucks as they cruise the town, but visitors should probably be on the lookout for those as well.
