Sometimes it's all right there in the casting: With Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy above the title, Identity Thief is bound to be at least a little bit funny. McCarthy is on a roll via Bridesmaids and the upcoming This Is 40, in which she steals the show from a bunch of damn funny folks. In Identify Thief, due out in February, she plays a con artist who steals Bateman's identity, then resists his attempts to bring her to justice. The trailer looks fairly funny—see for yourself—but the cast and director (Seth Gordon of Horrible Bosses and, more importantly, The King Of Kong)—make it seem like higher priority.
