It's time for more royal family squabbles as Marvel's Inhumans makes its broadcast debut

Here’s what up in the world of TV for Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

Marvel’s Inhumans (ABC, Friday, 8 p.m.): After last month’s IMAX screening failed to bowl over fans, Marvel’s Inhumans is getting a second chance to make a first impression with the broadcast debut of the two-hour series premiere. If you’re skeptical of the show, which stars Anson Mount and Iwan Rheon as royal brothers at war (that’s kind of Rheon’s thing), you should know that there’s “additional exclusive content” in tonight’s airings of “Behold… The Inhumans” and “Those Who Would Destroy Us” that might change your mind. Either way, Caitlin Rosberg will be holding court.

Z Nation (Syfy, Friday, 9 p.m.): Alex McLevy’s signed on for another tour of duty in this ongoing war with the undead. Season four premieres tonight, with the tagline “New ’do. New life. Bigger balls,” so we have an idea of what’s in store for Murphy and Warren.

Regular coverage

DuckTales (Disney XD, Saturday, 7 a.m.)
Halt And Catch Fire (AMC, Saturday, 9 p.m.)
Transparent (Friday and Saturday)

Wild card

Big Mouth (Netflix, Friday, 3:01 a.m.): As the seasons change, it seems fitting to check out this animated series about puberty led by Nick Kroll, who voices himself as well as his anthropomorphized hormones. Wait, that makes Big Mouth sound like some sweet coming-of-age story. You probably shouldn’t watch this with your kids, at least, not if they’re under the age of, oh say, 12? There are copious dick jokes, is the thing. But the voice cast is filled with your comedy faves, including Jordan Peele, Jenny Slate, Zach Woods, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, and Jason Mantzoukas, among others. So even if you wait until the kids are asleep, it’ll still be worth it.
