Bennifer fans are winning at the moment. If you’re pro-Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, you get to enjoy their relationship through This Is Me… Now, and appreciate The Greatest Love Story Never Told (now 100% more told!). If you miss Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, well, you’re also in luck, because the ex-spouses are in talks to reunite for Affleck’s next directorial outing, the Netflix film Animals. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Garner is currently in negotiations to star alongside Affleck’s good buddy Matt Damon. It will mark the first time Garner has been directed by her former husband.

Damon and Affleck, who most recently collaborated on The Last Duel, Air, and a Dunkin Donuts commercial, are producing Animals under their Artists Equity banner. The thriller is about a mayoral candidate (Damon) and his wife (Garner) whose son is kidnapped. “Surrounded by plenty of enemies, political and otherwise, the husband and wife have no choice but to get their hands dirty in order to save their son,” according to the synopsis (via THR).

Garner and Affleck were married for 13 years; they first connected on set—initially on Pearl Harbor, and later reconnecting on Daredevil. As it happens, Affleck met his current wife, Jennifer Lopez, on set too, as she recently recounted for Variety. “The first time meeting him on that film was at the read-through,” she said of their infamous film Gigli. “I remember kind of just walking in, and I think he was outside smoking a cigarette and I saw him, and we just talked for like a minute and then we sat down and did the read-through. I don’t remember a whole bunch more about it. But I remember being on the set with him every day and loving it.”

Affleck and Lopez also starred together in Jersey Girl, and he also appears in her musical film This Is Me…Now: A Love Story. Lopez might not have been the right fit for Animals (or she might’ve been way too busy with her own stuff; she just announced a North American tour for her new album), but she’s open to working together again in the future. “In the right thing, maybe,” she teased to Variety. “I mean, we love working together and being together. So maybe.”

It sounds like they’re on good terms, so are we allowed to be happy for them?

yeee they also share kids, sure they see each other a lot, and Garner must just be happy he’s showing up sober as a father.

Must be nice to be such good friends with your ex-wife that you can direct her in a movie where she plays your best friend’s wife.

I just don’t get why anyone would break up with Jennifer Garner.

I don’t know why anyone would marry Affleck.

Well, I could see it if she’s leaving to produce a series of films in Tunisia and you want to continue to support the actors of tomorrow by remaining a high school drama teacher. But other than that…

Hate to say it, but if Jennifer Lopez is the alternative, that’s one way.But in this case, Ben was an alcoholic mess and Jen (the other one) stopped tolerating him using it as an excuse to cheat on her. So it’s not that he broke up so much as he was dumped.Which is funny because Jen (the previous one) broke up with a guy for doing the same crap and now she’s dating a guy that Jen (the other one) basically forced to clean up and fix himself so he could be a good dad for their kids, but whom she originally broke up with for reasons having nothing to do with that behavior at all.

I don’t know about the post’s sudden turn into Jennifer Lopez territory, but there’s a lot of potential in Sidney Bristow and Jason Bourne getting their hands dirty. Add in the movie coming from Netflix and Ben Affleck, I’m expecting some enjoyable crap.

Honestly, it can’t be more boring than Six Underground.

How I loved ALIAS once upon a time. Seems kind of a shame Garner hasn’t had a bigger career. She hasn’t done too much action, though it may have been her choice to not choose action stardom, vying for more family friendly projects.
