Aaron Rodgers, the famed conspiracy theorist and occasional professional football player, has once again said something very dumb. Now, we understand that’s not news. Anyone who publicly touted the benefits of ivermectin, floated 9/11 conspiracies to co-workers, and lied about reading Atlas Shrugged is going to say dumb things. This is just the first time Jimmy Kimmel has threatened to sue him over it.

Again appearing on his second home, The Pat McAfee, Rodgers suggested that Kimmel’s name would appear in Jeffrey Epstein’s flight logs, which are expected to be made public this week, and that he will pop “some sort of bottle” when the list is revealed. “There’s a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, [who] are really hoping that doesn’t come out,” he said. “I’ll tell you what, if that list comes out, I definitely will be popping some sort of bottle.”

Kimmel didn’t take being associated with one of the country’s most notorious sex traffickers/financiers lying down. The comedian published an open letter to the “soft-brained wackos” like Rodgers on Twitter.

“Dear Aasshole: for the record, I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any “list” other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality. Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up and we will debate the facts further in court.”

Kimmel frequently spars with Rodgers via his late-night show. Earlier this year, Rodgers expressed his excitement over unveiling those Epstein flight logs, a perfectly normal thing for a man with a Super Bowl ring to anticipate. Kimmel later aired the clip on his late-night show, joking that the NFL should “revisit its concussion protocol” and likely setting up the social media kerfuffle we currently find ourselves in.

What does Lynn Dickey think of all this?

    • kinjacaffeinespider-av says:

Lynn Dickey is above all this. Lynn Dickey would never sully the great name of Dickey with shenanigans.

  • iggypoops-av says:

I can only guess that Green Bay is completely ecstatic to be past the drama and stupidity of having Aaron Rogers as the face of their team. There’s only so much stupid that one can overlook because of sportsing talent.

Packers fan here, I am beyond relieved that Jordan Love appears to be both a) good at football and b) relatively normal, quiet even. For a long time before the heyday of the internet we knew that the Packers were good at keeping negative stories about their guys out of the papers, which we understood to be things like “you get a police escort home instead of a DUI” (c.f. Favre, Brett) but this apparently also extends to “seriously losing touch with reality.” Rodgers was apparently like this at least five years ago (Famously he asked then-backup QB Deshon Kizer if he “believed in 9/11″ in 2018), but we never really learned the extent of it until he got to New York.  Good riddance.

      • dinoironbody7-av says:

Was Rodgers known for being weird when he was Love’s age?

      • i-miss-splinter-av says:

        Seconded. Glad Rodgers is gone.

      • akabrownbear-av says:

Rodgers was pretty normal (at least publicly) for the vast majority of his career. The crazy side of him started to manifest during the pandemic. Who knows what personality / beliefs Jordan Love or any of these famous athletes truly have.

    • disqusdrew-av says:

Brett Favre -> Involved in giant welfare scamAaron Rodgers -> Nutso conspiracy theorist, overall general smug assholeSomebody dig into Jordan Love’s background. I don’t like this trend.

      • dinoironbody7-av says:

Did Lynn Dickey do anything really bad?

      • paezdishpencer-av says:

Its really fucking weird as I remember the day Aaron showed up and how well the country at large received him….he had this genial affable quality about him and people generally liked him. Especially after the whole Brett ‘will he retire or won’t he’ bullshit-a-thon.And now we got this type of shit, Rodgers being a ding dong while spouting bullshit. Is there something in Green Bay’s water or something?

      • engineerthefuture-av says:

You forgot about Farve’s dick pics too, so it appears to be trending upward. Maybe Love just advocates for lower taxes.

    • paulfields77-av says:

At least they had the benefit of his on-field skills. The Jets have to suck up this nonsense while playing a revolving roster of third rate quarterbacks.

      • iggypoops-av says:

At least you also get to pay his enormous contract for 90 seconds of play (I know, it’s not his fault he got hurt, but… ouch). At least the Jets didn’t lose a first-round pick based on percentage of plays.

        • elloasty-av says:

Apparently , when he saw those visions in that sweat lodge of a veteran QB taking a marginal offense with a great defense to their first playoff appearance in years he was actually seeing Joe Flacco’s future.

      • bc222-av says:

So… totally on brand for the Jets. Isn’t it startling that Joe Namath’s “I wanna kiss you!” to Suzy Kolber is maybe only the third most embarrassing thing a Jets QB has done?

Meanwhile Brett Favre cackles like a maniac somewhere as he extorts money for girl’s volleyball teams.

Jeffrey Epstein’s flight logs are going to be the next Hunter Biden’s laptop, after that replaced Hillary’s emails.

    • frankwalkerbarr-av says:

Eh, maybe. The thing is we already know Trump and pals were friendly with Epstein as well as the standard targets of right-wing hate like Bill Clinton and Bill Gates, so I suspect its use as a political tool will be moot.

      • yllehs-av says:

Only one of the people you mentioned is running for office or will likely ever run for office. His fans weren’t bothered by him bragging about grabbing women’s private parts without their consent, so I’m guessing they won’t mind if he was spending quality time with a sex trafficker of underage girls either.

        • thepetemurray-darlingbasinauthorithy-av says:

Remember: he’s suing Christopher Steele not for libel but for leaking data.He doesn’t care that people think that he likes a little piss-play with some underage Russkie whores. He’s just pissed that someone had that info and leaked it without his permission.

        • boggardlurch-av says:

His insisting on visiting the Teen USA dressing rooms while the contestants were changing and the encouragement the handlers gave to have partially nude underage girls hang on him and fawn over him were pretty open during the election, and his fans are all perfectly OK with it.I would take any bet that you could surface video of Trump and Epstein actively raping a baby and his supporters would talk about his virility.

      • gernn-av says:

The released documents are 943 pages and the name clinton is mentioned 73 times. The name trump is mentioned 4 times. I think the maga people will be all over it.

True. Democrats are great at just ignoring anything harmful to their party

    • murrychang-av says:

But what if…and I’m just spitballing here…what if HRC was reading her emails on Hunter Biden’s laptop while they were on Epstein’s plane! And what will Epstein’s mom think??

    • frenchton-av says:

The cognitive dissonance of so many right-wingers on Epstein is bizarre. Trump has been implicated and any new documents will undoubtedly implicate him more, along with other right wing figures. Sure, there will be left-wing and center figures implicated too, because blackmail has no ideology.

Let’s not forget, the person most likely to have had Epstein murdered is Hillary Clinton because she is the mastermind of all sexual exploitation on Earth and the real misogynist in all this.

    • amessagetorudy-av says:

Only if there are a lot of Dems on it. I mean, we just saw Trump’s fucking name on it and it’s not even the top thing on the news. I mean, a major presidential candidate, who has a good chance to take office again, is on the flight logs of a plane that goes to “Pedo island” and … nothing.Although if Clinton’s name is on it, a GOP “investigation” is guaranteed.

    • weirdstalkersareweird-av says:

Two points:1. I love that there’s a dude in your comments who is A-OK with pedophiles if they’re in MAGA hats, apparently.2. I’d like to see the list. This shit tends to happen in interconnected “rings” of perpetrators, and an actual investigation could crack a LOT of those rings.

      • blpppt-av says:

A reminder: Trump has managed to convince every single one of his followers that any negative story about him is a setup or Fake News. That is how the average Trumper continues to believe in him and want him to be President again. People far smarter than Trump himself have created a masterwork of brainwashing of a large amount of people in this country. So, even if he is on that list, its a “DEEP STATE FRAMEJOB”. Many people are beyond hope–even in the highly unlikely event that he actually gets put in a federal prison, they still won’t believe he did a single thing wrong.

        • weirdstalkersareweird-av says:

Oh, I know. Good amount of people out there who have decided to wrangle with existential dread by being absolute, gasping, debased dipshits. The Fox News long term plan definitely “succeeded.”

In the same binder with Barry from Kenya’s birth certificate.

  • nowaitcomeback-av says:

I like how accusing someone of being on Epstein’s plane is like some massive gotcha from right wing kooks like Aaron Rodgers. Nevermind that the one person we know seemed to REALLY enjoy flying with Epstein was Trump, the right’s chosen son.

    • xpdnc-av says:

I’m sure that Trump fans will claim that he was really on those flights to make sure that nothing bad happened. You, know, like he was the chaperone.

      • elloasty-av says:

Trump was just there for the snorkeling.

      • liffie420-av says:

It’s the Cheeto, he will just claim fake news and waive his tiny hands.  IT’s a sad state that when he is nominated, and he sadly will be, his supporters will happily vote for a guy under active indictment for crimes.

        • xpdnc-av says:

That’s what bothers me the most. Not Trump himself, but the willingness of so many people to ignore what he says and does. I don’t know which is more frightening, the low information voters that love him, or the well educated Republicans that fear/tolerate him.

          • liffie420-av says:

Yeah to be honest IMO, most of his voters don’t actually buy in to his BS, though a portion absolutely does, and they are very vocal. It’s just the by product of our 2 party system, if/when he is the nom those who won’t vote democrat will 100% vote for him because of the R next to his name and nothing else. I have voted right in the past, but I can’t in good conscience vote for them now because they all back such terrible shit. All the anti trans/gay/abortion shit is so fucking stupid.  They are hating against things that in NO way affect their ability to live their life and be happy.  I just wish ANYONE on the right could boot the Cheeto out of the front position, but they can’t.

          • blpppt-av says:

The problem is that he’s convinced a massive amount of people that they cannot believe anything negative ever reported about him. Then it becomes relatively easy to support him since you aren’t accepting of anything terrible he’s actually done.

      • igotlickfootagain-av says:

He was only on that plane to get directions on how to get away from that plane.

    • akabrownbear-av says:

He doesn’t care about Trump – the only political candidate he’s recently endorsed is RFK Jr who basically runs off of championing all the conspiracy theories that Rodgers believes in.

You know who else has defamed Trump for years? Trump. That fucking tumor is the biggest carrier for foot-in-mouth disease the world has ever known, and it only seems to get worse every single day of his diseased little life. Here, hold this. It’s that L you were just talking about.

    • xirathi-av says:

Throwing around legal terms that you don’t understand bc you’re sad that Kimmel makes fun of your orange daddy is pretty gay. Kimmel has been on the air for over 20 years and it’s his job to clown on every president. It’s not his fault Trump is a literal clown in full face make-up.

        • yllehs-av says:

Putting aside the fact that this comment was clearly made in the context of a comedy act, if you think a defamation claim based on a statement from over 5 years ago is likely to succeed, someone needs to remind you that statutes of limitations exist. If said politician thought they would succeed in defamation claims against comedians, a least one lawsuit would have been filed. Have you considered why this hasn’t happened?

    • nimbh-av says:

Sure he’ll take that Litigation all the way to Rodgers’ bank.

    • shartinyourjacuzzi-av says:

What’s the L he’s supposed to take?  He should just take a public accusation of being a pedo lying down?  Aaron took the L for launching the accusation with zero evidence.

    *Jimmy Kimmel bursts into tears*

  • muheca90-av says:

The right finds men who believe in conspiracies endearing. I worked at a big chain pharmacy a few years ago and they would occasionally mix in a few country songs. One song was by a woman, I never found out who, who sang about all the sweet things her lunkhead husband/boyfriend does. One line goes something like “he’s in the other room freaking out ‘cause he just read we never went to the moon.”Also, I don’t like how this article ends by suggesting this is all Kimmel’s fault by rightly pointing out how profoundly ignorant Rodgers is

    • kman3k-av says:

Also, I don’t like how this article ends by suggesting this is all Kimmel’s fault by rightly pointing out how profoundly ignorant Rodgers is If you run your mouth about someone to get laughs (Kimmel) then you can expect to get some return fire. Tit for Tat. Not that big of a deal. BUT, Kimmel let Rodgers name outta his mouth first, so you tell me, whose fault is it?

      • nimbh-av says:

        You’re a dumb little child.

        • kman3k-av says:

You seem oddly invested in being a cunt. 3 different replies, 2 dismissed…. I’ll allow this one just so I can call you a cunt, again.

      • shartinyourjacuzzi-av says:

BUT, Kimmel let Rodgers name outta his mouth first, so you tell me, whose fault is it?It is not Kimmel’s fault that he was publicly (falsely) accused of being a pedo. That’s not part of a tit for tat, that’s beyond. And when Aaron presents publicly as a conspiracy theorist, he’s inviting mockery.

  • electricsheep198-av says:

    Okay “Aasshole” is funny.

  • skc1701a-av says:

“Earlier this year, Rodgers expressed his excitement over unveiling those Epstein flight logs, a perfectly normal thing for a man with a Super Bowl ring to anticipate.”Considering that the Epstein Client List pedophiles were not immediately revealed like the adult clients of “Hollywood Madam” Heidi Fleiss, I think many Americans – regardless of categorization – are looking forward to these sickos getting doxxed/boycotted/cancelled – which should have happened years ago.Kimmel did dote over Epstein’s personal chef Adam Lang. Colin Rugg did a thread with a video over on X that is a bit damning towards Kimmel.
I find it odd that NY AG Laetitia James – who boldly went after Trump – has not sought any indictments for anyone who visited Epstein’s Manhattan apartment, which victims said was also used for sex trafficking children during the Ghislaine Maxwell trial. Is it possible that Kimmel visited Epstein’s Manhattan apartment instead of flying to the Caribbean? Watch the video. The ‘Yes’ argument is more than plausible.

  • nostalgic4thecta-av says:

    “Aasshole”
    That’s pretty funny.

  • igotlickfootagain-av says:

Kimmel calling Rodgers “soft brained” is not the insult he thinks it is. As we all know, brains should be soft:

  • shartinyourjacuzzi-av says:

“Hoo boy nothin would make my day like this guy I don’t like being outed as a pedo!”That’s you Aaron, that’s how you sound.
