Juice-drinking little boy shares his thoughts on the new Lil Yachty single

Here at The A.V. Club, we strive to provide pop-culture expertise and analysis on a wide-range of topics from film to music, books, television, and much more. What we cannot (yet) provide, however, is a juice-drinking little boy named Rory holding a cat while reviewing Lil Yachty’s new track “Baby Daddy” featuring Lil Pump and Offset.

In the clip, Rory successfully navigates some of the trickier aspects of being a professional pop-culture expert, including cat management, making sure your parents aren’t more disappointed in you than is necessary, and having enough Trader Joe’s juice and snacks on hand.

Helpfully, Rory has the edited version of “Baby Daddy” on his mom’s iPhone, so that his parents and “the people at school” don’t get mad at him. Even so, Rory has a spray-bottle on hand—just in case the proceedings get too fire. While Rory is not fully on board with the previous efforts of Lil Yachty and Lil Pump, he is a fan of Migos, and as such has high expectations for Offset’s guest turn.

After a quick soundcheck by way of Lil Pump’s “Gucci Gang,” Rory gets into the new track. While Rory does not appear to approve of the track’s title, he is pretty sure it has a lot of bad words, due to how much has been cut out. Surprisingly, Rory approves of Pump’s flow, cleaner here than on his breakout “Gucci Gang,” while being unimpressed with Offset’s signature ad-libs. The less Rory can say about Lil Yachty’s mumble rap, the better.

Overall, the track gets only a 6 out of 10 from Rory, with points docked for the title, Yachty’s uninspired turn, and the brevity of the features. The spray-bottle is not needed.
