![Lilly Singh's vision of a female Joker is relatable](https://img.pastemagazine.com/wp-content/avuploads/2019/10/14172553/emrnk7mf2z8inl36rv9b.jpg)
As the Joker discourse rages on, Lilly Singh’s here to fuel the fire. On A Little Late with Lilly Singh, the comedian aired a bit that begins with clips of Joaquin Phoenix, Heath Ledger, Jared Leto, and Cesar Romero’s iterations of the Batman villain before warning us of the terror still to come: a lady Joker.
Singh enters donning the sloppy lip color of the iconic DC character and, well, does her job. However, simple acts such as asking for the latest reports or sharing her career history prompt drastic reactions from her male employees. “She’s insane, she’s a monster,” they gasp. The perfect punchline arrives at the end, with Singh realizing her lipstick’s been smudged this entire time and not a single soul told her (actually very rude.)
It’s a witty way to illustrate the subtle (and not-so-subtle) forms of sexism in the workplace. Or as the narrator says at the end of the video, “it’s feminist or whatever.”

Not bad.
Joke-Her? I hardly knew her!
Thats a better joke then whatever this is.
I guess the punchline was vaguely chuckle worthy. So yeah, about the same quality as most latenight bits.
I got half way through before I tapped out. Care to spoil the punchline?
The article already did: Her lipstick is smeared and nobody told her nor did she apparently look in a mirror at all until late in the day, woo that’s funny!
On the plus side, at least it was only a couple minutes long, not 4-5.
Thank you for your sacrifice!
Its a joke that’s been done to death with new lipstick, like the joker.
If we were ever to get a legit lady Joker, Jodie Comer would be fucking perfect.
Isnt Lady Joker just Harley Quinn?
Old-school Harley, yes.
Unless it’s Martha Wayne, but that’s a different story.
Why did you say that name?!
WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME
Yeah, and Moon Knight is just Marvel’s Batman. COME ON!!!!
The judges would have also accepted “Flashpoint Martha Wayne”
Lady famous for playing evil lady should play Famous Evil Lady.
I want Aubrey Plaza to play an androgynous Joker.
Season 2 of Killing Eve, perhaps because it was not as tightly written, did kinda dip into the nihilism of Rick & Morty more. It made Nico a total loser cuck dipweed (a punching bag almost on the level of Jerry), and leaned into Villanelle’s detached-from-society violence as cool in and of itself (cough, Rick, cough). If Villanelle and Eve were played by men it would be savaged as a retrograde power fantasy for incels. But of course, they’re not played by men. And no sarcasm here, that does make it at least a bit fresher. But another season of that and I think its audience will tap out.
Jodie Comer should play the Joker. She would blow the rest of them away.
Then cast Sandra Oh as Batman, and really dive into their love/hate relationship.
It was funny, and it made a point about men that I had never heard before. I learned something, and I laughed. So original.
Wow, this is next level bad.
Stop trying to make Lily Singh happen, entertainment industry.
It’s like a slightly edgier version of the “humor” you might find in a workplace training video. That’s what happens when the jokes take a backseat to the message.
Honestly, a gender-bent Joker writes itself: an introverted, depressive woman finally hears a guy on the street telling her to smile for the ten millionth time and just… snaps.
