If you’re a fan of The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power, you should probably pay attention to what we’re about to say next. The stars of the Amazon Prime series will be dropping by The A.V. Club’s office New York this week, where they’ll answer questions from us—and from some fortunate fans.

Cynthia Addai-Robinson (Queen Regent Miriel), Daniel Weyman (The Stranger), Leon Wadham (Kemen), and Sara Zwangobani (Marigold Brandyfoot) will all be here for an in-person conversation with The A.V. Club. And while our staff has plenty of things we want to ask, we also want to be sure the Rings Of Power stars have a chance to answer your questions as well.

So submit your questions now for the each of the stars or for the full cast in the comments section below. We’ll sort through the submissions and select some of the best (i.e, the most insightful, intriguing, or amusing). Then we’ll ask them on camera when the Rings Of Power cast arrives.

Questions must be submitted no later than 5 PM ET on October 5. Then be sure to check back with The A.V. Club next week when the video from our Rings Of Power conversation goes live and see if your question made the cut.

Please no racist question. Please no sexist question. My question : What did they think about the incoherent lore? Miriel, Elendil, every Numenorian cast story happened after the forging of the rings of power not before.

  • maulkeating-av says:

How much did they have to pay the producers of the gay porno, Ring Of Power, for the naming rights?

  • yellowfoot-av says:

Jeez, why do they have to go all the way to New York? Can’t they just Uber to your LA location that Management insisted on for exactly this purpose?

  • kris1066-av says:

What kind of training did the cast have to do behind the scenes, and how much of it did they have?(e.g. horseback riding, archery, sword play, etc…)

  • yellowfoot-av says:

Oh, I have a real question too. This series is famously one of the most expensive pieces of media of all time. A good chunk of the money spent was for the IP rights, but I believe nearly half a billion USD was for the actual production of just the first season. Can you see and feel that difference while filming? For example, Númenor looks absolutely amazing with a real atmosphere and attention to detail. Was that whole set built lovingly by dozens of 40-year-veteran Mediterranean craftsmen, or is most of that money being spent in post to create the world?

I’m curious how deep the various actors’ knowledge of the LOTR lore goes. I’ve read The Hobbit, and I’ve seen “Fellowship” and maybe 1/2 hour of “Two Towers”, but it seems like everyone else who comments on the show knows Silmarillion and all the appendices down to the phrase, so I wonder how much of what’s on page even makes sense to them without seeing the rest of the episodes in context.

  • lostlimey296-av says:

    Seriously, are you playing Sauron?

  • katanahottinroof-av says:

What was the Men of Numenor calendar shoot like?

  • senatorstampingston-av says:

Were you a fan of JRR Tolkien’s books or Peter Jackson’s films prior to working on Rings of Power? If not, did you go back and consume them?

  • John--W-av says:

For Cynthia Addai-Robinson, how similar or different is Rings of Power from working on Gladiator? Besides the budget, that is.For Weyman: Who the heck are you!?For all four of them: Have you read The Hobbit and/or Lord of The Rings?

  • dachiesa-av says:

I’d like to know from some of the cast – comparing their favorite scene to actually film, and after they finally saw it all together, what was their favorite scene after getting to watch it? Was it the same or did it change?

    • zoethebitch-av says:

I like this question. The answer would obviously refer to something viewers have seen on screen but it might track back to some interesting behind the scenes info also.

What have I got in my pocket?

I wonder if once an actor gets cast in one of these prestige shows, if there’s a serious sit-down with their agency or some CON-lifers as to how to deal with Fantasy-CON appearances. You get invited to these things for life now. Advice? (Don’t seduce the nerds! See: dude from The Expanse.) No spoilers! Free donuts for life! Only use Amazon approved sparkly markers to sign head-shot photos! Plus, are they contractually mandated?

    • jimbjohn-av says:

I’m actually interested in this too. There are surely a couple of actors whose lives are going to be fundamentally different than they were before landing a role in this show. How do you prepare for becoming immediately famous in the geek-sphere?

  • Sarah-Hawke-av says:

Was there ever any moment where it hit you like you were filming something special? Maybe something that reminded you of the films or just something completely out of left field.

  • VicDiGital-av says:

Now that both creative staff and cast have a full season under your belts, and have been able to see the (non-toxic) reaction from fans, what sort of shift or tweaks are you noticing in how your characters are being written? And is there a shift in how you are thinking about playing your roles in season two?

  • katanahottinroof-av says:

When are we going to see some fucking rings, or are the writers going to change that, too?

  • gkar2265-av says:

I am fascinated by the use of accents in the show for different groups – Irish for the Harfoots, Scottish for the Dwarves, Western for the Southern Men. I am curious what guidance the actors were given – especially any reasoning behind the choices. Also – what accents are the Numenorans and Elves assigned – I am not great hearing the difference between received pronunciation and midlands accents. TBH, I do not remember this being a thing in Jacksons’ LOTR (I could be wrong).

  • atheissimo-av says:

For Cynthia Addai-Robinson, how was it re-uniting with half the cast of Spartacus again? Did you influence them being hired or was it a case of getting every Aussie/Kiwi actor currently working on deck?

  • kendull-av says:

My question: I find the detail in the costumes astounding. How does it help your performance and immersion in the character when the clothes and armor are this detailed and you are on set in either this finery or creatively grubby clothing?

  • Semeyaza-av says:

Did you actually read the script before accepting to be part of this travesty of Tolkien lore and very sub-par written series or are you victims too? I bet the second. :DCheers

  • murrychang-av says:

Why aren’t the Numinorians and Elves as tall as they should be?  Did you refuse to wear stilts?

  • mark-t-man-av says:

Why is a raven like a writing desk? Also, why isn’t your show as good as House of the Dragon?

  • frozenmandibles-av says:

For your role[s], did you draw any of your character inspiration from any of the performances from the Peter Jackson trilogies (or, heck, the Ralph Bakshi film) (or, heck, from reading/re-reading the original Tolkien books?)?

  • charlestonchewbacca-av says:

Based on the comments in the episode recaps, I assume this question will be at the top of many people’s minds

  • giganticrabbit-av says:

    How
well-versed were you in Tolkien’s work before taking your role? Do you
already know the ultimate fate and story arc of your character (and does
that inform your performance), or are showrunners keeping their
    secrets?
