Following her touchy-feely appearance on last night’s Golden Globes, Maya Rudolph is returning to SNL, this time as host. The former longtime SNL cast member will be the first host when the show returns on March 27 after a brief hiatus:

The series is coming off a five-week run that concluded over the weekend in a fairly underwhelming episode with Nick Jonas pulling double duty as host and musical guest.

This marks Rudolph’s second time hosting SNL since leaving the cast in 2007, but she’s made plenty of memorable appearances since—including several guest spots as Vice President Kamala Harris opposite Jim Carrey’s Joe Biden. Carrey made the decision to step away from playing now-President Biden following the 2020 election, and SNL’s political sketches have since shifted focus to mocking senators like Ted Cruz (Aidy Bryant) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (Cecily Strong). With Rudolph’s return to SNL, it’s likely she’ll reprise her affectionate portrayal of Harris, though it’s still unclear if or when the show will recast Biden.

Rapper Jack Harlow will join Maya Rudolph on stage as SNL’s first musical guest post-hiatus.

Maya will also play Joe Biden.
Soon all will be Maya! Bring on the Mayacracy!

I very much suspect that after four years of easy material with Trump, they just plain have no idea what to do with a president who actually is a normal human being.

I think it says a lot about how easy Trump was to make fun of that Biden is considered normal. Before Trump came along I think Biden was generally considered too goofy to get elected president.

Good. The lack of sketches about the Presidency has taken away all of SNL’s easy material & forced then to get creative & weird again.

SNL’s scheduling this year doesn’t make sense to me. People predicted for months before the election there was a good chance it would take a while to determine the winner, but at first SNL wasn’t even gonna do an episode the first Saturday after the election(they were lucky that was the day the election was called for Biden). And then after taking a break for Christmas they didn’t do another episode until the second Saturday after the inauguration. Did they think nothing would happen in early-mid January that was worth making fun of?

They also did an unprecedented six straight weeks to start off the season, so maybe don’t complain like an entitled cunt about something as inconsequential as the SNL schedule?

Isn’t it a Covid thing? Bunch all the episodes together?

Marjorie Taylor Greene is not a senator.  There was a lot of attention on the Georgia runoffs, and she was not involved.

Come on oh, I know this site has gone downhill since the new owners took over, but Alex Moffat was recast as Biden over a month ago and has already made an appearance in character.

Marjorie Taylor Green is not a senator. She represents Georgia’s 14th District in the House of Representatives. Do not assign this lunatic more power than she already has. That she has any is troubling enough.Maya Rudolph certainly is a fan of the mumu look. And they always look great on her! I wish I could pull that off, but as a short fat woman I suspect I’d look like a beach ball with a fancy towel hanging off me.
