As reported by allhiphop.com, Ingrid Newkirk, head of People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals, busted on presidential puppeteer Karl Rove for his stint as a rap MC at the White House Correspondents Dinner on March 28. Rove's surreal performance wasn't the cause of PETA's rage, however; it was a pre-rhyme comment prompted by erstaz funnyman Colin Mochrie, who asked Rove if he had any hobbies — to which Rove replied, "I like to… tear the tops off of small animals."
Needless to say, that didn't fly with Newkirk, who issued a statement addressed to Rove that said, "You have a severe compassion deficit and, sadly, you have the president's ear, and the last thing this country needs is someone whispering something violent into it."
