Megan Fox will be funny now

Aux Features Film

After the story of Megan Fox getting fired from Transformers a year ago somehow became more popular than any other Transformers story this summer, Fox is using her no-such-thing-as-bad publicity boost to snag some pretty decent roles lately, presumably with people who think Michael Bay is kind of ridiculous anyway. Fox has recently begun shifting into the comedy world by booking roles in Judd Apatow’s Knocked Up spin-off, This Is Forty, as well as the Kristen Wiig, Jon Hamm, and Adam Scott-starring Friends With Kids, and now The Hollywood Reporter says she’s also landed a cameo in Sacha Baron Cohen’s The Dictator alongside John C. Reilly. Both Fox’s and Reilly’s roles are being kept secret for now, so it’s not known yet to what extent she’ll actually be in the film. But the story has already sent joke scientists scrambling to their basement labs to concoct something out of the fact that Fox is in a movie called The Dictator and that she once compared Michael Bay to Hitler. Give it up, guys. It’s a basic “slight irony” chain, and a flimsy one at that. Grafting complex polymers to it will only break down its components.
