Everyone who has ever spent hours looking for that one favorite Calvin & Hobbes strip with Spaceman Spiff or Susie’s comatose rabbit Mr. Bun, rejoice: Software engineer Michael “Bing” Yingling has created a search engine for every old Calvin And Hobbes. Yingling discovered complete scripts online for each strip, and built an engine that works with the GoComics archive of Calvin And Hobbes.
For now, comics can only be searched by exact phrase and date and it’s a little wonky, so sometimes searches for exact strips might not work out exactly. But isn’t delightful randomness—along with too-real philosophical musings and chaotic games of Calvinball—part of what makes Calvin And Hobbes so great? [via Robot 6]
