Saturday Night Live star and stand-up comedian Michael Che will host a show in New York benefitting Planned Parenthood on Monday, January 30. The Weekend Update co-anchor made the announcement via his Facebook page on Tuesday, saying “lets do a show for planned parenthood. if it wasnt for them, id be michael campbell the funnyass dad.”
“Michael Che’s Secret Show,” taking place at Brooklyn’s venerable Knitting Factory, will feature a secret lineup, and all proceeds will benefit the women’s health care provider, with Che “matching the door.” With the show selling out in a matter of minutes, Che said via Instagram on Thursday that he’ll do another secret show “in a couple weeks/months.” In December, Che performed at a benefit for the Scleroderma Research Foundation at the comedy club Carolines On Broadway.
