Aux Features Music

R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe will premiere his “first solo composition ever” at MoogFest this May, according to Pitchfork. The “exclusive audiovisual installation,” which will run throughout the annual festival, explores “desire and movement” and features video that Stipe filmed in New York along with his new accompanying score. MoogFest—a tribute to Dr. Robert Moog and a celebration of his invention, the Moog analog synthesizer—takes place this year in Durham, North Carolina from May 18 to 21. Performers include Flying Lotus, Animal Collective, Suzanne Ciani, Gotye, and Derrick May, and the festival also features workshops, films and live scores, and presentations.
